Wirtl: What does the surname Wirtl mean?
The last name Wirtl is a German toponymic surname with origins in the Middle Ages. It's derived from a Middle High German word "wirtel" meaning "the one from the small island". During the Middle Ages, Wirtl was a toponym used to refer to numerous small settlements or islands located in the area now known as the German state of Bavaria.
The word "Wirtl" has its origins in the Bavarian dialect and can be translated to English as "island". As such, the name was given to individuals born or living on a small island near the city of Munich. This could have been intentional, or done purely for convenience, since people often moved around (even within a small region) due to economic, political, or religious reasons.
The meaning of the surname Wirtl also reflects a centuries-long tradition of agricultural heritage in the region. For centuries, people have lived on small farms in the area, often located on small islands that provided land for farming. This type of lifestyle still exists today, and many of the places where the surname Wirtl originated still remains an agricultural area.
While Wirtl is primarily a German last name, it is not exclusive to that particular region. It can also be found in other countries across Central Europe and beyond, primarily in areas with a strong Germanic influence. In some cases, the spelling of the last name has also been modified to fit the local language, but the meaning remains largely the same.

HEllo,
for the first one: Marcel Wirtl I haven't found anything about that footballer, but when you Google Marcel Wirtl, you can see that there is a actor called Marcel Wirtl. I think that this should be there, because it is more authentic, then an footballer you can't even find on Google.
Thanks,
Lara
