Discovering the Dillard Lineage: A Scientific Exploration Through iGENEA DNA Test
Family name Dillard
In an insightful exploration of my lineage through the iGENEA DNA test, the scientific findings were striking. The Dillard surname traces its roots back to Western Europe, particularly Ireland and France, with our ancestors migrating thousands of years ago. This revealed test exposes a fascinating tapestry of genetic traits, ancient migrations, and regions in Western Europe.
After undertaking the comprehensive iGENEA DNA test, the scientific findings were extraordinary, providing fascinating insights into my heritage and the journey of the surname Dillard. As per the results of the DNA test, the Dillard surname traces its roots back to Western Europe, with strong connections specifically in the areas of Ireland, France, and England.
The Y chromosome test showed a strong match with the R1b haplogroup, which is common in Western Europe. It strongly signifies that the Dillard line likely originates from this region, with a high concentration in places like Ireland and France. This finding is further strengthened by the autosomal test, which explores a wider range of DNA, and suggested the existence of strong genetic ties to these locales.
The maternal lineage (mtDNA) test, which delves into the maternal side, shared a similar story. There was a remarkable match with the H haplogroup, which is again, prevalent in Western Europe. It firmly implies that even the maternal lineage of the Dillard family probably has a strong Western European connection.
Furthermore, the study highlighted an interesting array of genetic traits that are part of the Dillard DNA. For one, the Dillard line was found to possess the Rhesus Negative (Rh-) blood type gene, a rare and unique trait that links us to a small percentage of the world's population.
The Deep Ancestry Test confirmed the ancient lineage of the Dillard family, placing our ancestors among the haplogroups that populated Europe following the Last Glacial Maximum, nearly 11,700 years ago. This reveals that our family line is an integral part of the long human journey— surviving, thriving, and moving across continents over thousands of years.
To be able to trace such a vast expanse of human history through my DNA was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The iGENEA DNA test truly brought the depths of the Dillard family history to life in a compelling manner.
